Kay’s theatre roles over a lengthy career have encompassed modern classics (Linda Loman in Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, Beatrice in A View from the Bridge, Elena in Chekhov’s The Bear), modern powerful drama (Isobel in The Secret Rapture, Sheila in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, Else in Festen), comedy (Mrs Swabb in Habeaus Corpus, Pauline Mole in The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Carla Pepperbloom in Comic Potential) and dance (Mavis in Stepping Out). Kay has performed in ensemble pieces (The Canterbury Tales, open air production, Victoria Park, Beyond The Fringe, Rondo, Bath) and has recently been seen in one woman shows (Shirley in Shirley Valentine, Angela in My Brilliant Divorce) at The Mission Theatre, Bath (Next Stage Theatre Company productions).

Kay has appeared in venues in Bath, Bristol and the South West (Solange in The Maids, SW tour, Serafina Pekkala in His Dark Materials, Minack Theatre, Cornwall) and she has recently returned from New York where she played Celia and Sylvie in Alan Ayckbourn’s fascinating multi layered comic drama Intimate Exchanges in a theatre off Broadway. Intimate Exchanges was a Next Stage production in association with Love Arm'd Productions in the USA.

Her other theatre has included: The Actress in La Ronde and The Blue Room, Equus, Mother Miriam Ruth in Agnes of God, Madge in The Dresser, Dr Scott in Whose Life is it Anyway?, Nell in Passion Play, Patricia Preece in Stanley, M’Lynn in Steel Magnolias, Celia/Sylvie/Irene in a Next Stage production of Intimate Exchanges at The Mission Theatre, Bath, UK. Much of Kay's most recent work has been with the Next Stage Theatre Company, under its Artistic Director, Ann Garner. Kay wishes to express appreciation for the range and depth of roles she has performed with this innovative and hugely talented Bath company.

Kay has also appeared in cabarets, murder mysteries, workshops and pantomime. She has her own theatre company called Blue Angel.

When she is not entertaining audiences Kay works as an advocate for people with mental health problems. She has two grown up sons and she lives in Bristol.
